Best of Primark Beauty!

I love doing my make-up for fun, and since I’m a student, I love my discounts. Make-up can be quite expensive at times but that’s when Primark comes to help. I was super hesitant about Primark’s make-up as I wasn’t sure if a clothing store should really be expanding into a completely new product line – beauty and make-up. I was intrigued enough to find out what their make-up was like and I was thoroughly surprised. I’ve found some absolute staples to put in my make-up bag that are far better than any high-end beauty products I’ve ever tried. Yes, they’re that great!

The first product I love the most and only recently bought is this PS Bronze Shadow & Shade palette, which only cost £4! The pigmentation of these shadows is incredible. I never want to use my other eyeshadow palettes again! The colours in this palette are gorgeous. It has those lovely nude shades as well as a blue shade, which makes this palette so special as I love using a touch of blue in my shadow when I want to do something different. It’s got some vibrant shades as well as some more neutral ones. You definitely need this palette in your make-up bag, trust me! I also love the packaging. It’s so thin and simple, which I love as I hate bulky palettes. This is a must-have!

I’ve had this PS Pure Glow highlighting palette for a while now and I’m in love. I’ve put all of my other highlighters back in my cupboard because this is all I need! I use ‘desert’ on the bridge of my nose, inner corners of my eyes as well as my brow bone. I use ‘glimmer’ on my cheekbones and it gives the prettiest golden glow. I also use the other shades depending on my make-up look (‘firefly’ for when I’m more tanned and ‘eden’ for more cooler toned looks) and honestly it’s the best palette ever, especially for £5!

This PS blusher in the shade ‘taboo’ is gorgeous for when you want more of a coral-toned blusher rather than a pink-toned one. Pink doesn’t look the best on my pale skin so when I found this I was all over the moon. I’ve always used sparkly pink blushes but since I’ve been loving using those Primark higlighters, it all looked a bit too much. This is a gorgeous matte blusher and it’s definitely worth the £1.50 that it costs (which is insanely cheap for how amazing this is, seriously)!

Primark’s lipsticks are incredible. I decided to try out their PS Matte Long Last Lipsticks, which are so lovely. I bought this pale shade (can’t find a shade name on the lipstick, I’m sorry!) as I don’t have any pale nude lip products and I am so happy I got this. This also cost £1.50 and it’s honestly worth so much more! It gives a matte finish but it doesn’t dry out my lips at all! My lips can’t normally handle matte products (i.e. matte lip kits etc.) but this one works beautifully! Definitely check out these lipsticks, they’ve got some beautiful shades in store!

Let me know if you know of any amazing make-up bargains in the comments below because there’s nothing better than affordable good quality beauty products! If you want me to do similar posts about other drugstore brands, let me know!

Summer Essentials!

What time is it? It’s summer time! (Yes, that was a High School Musical reference). It’s been so incredibly hot here in the UK the past few days and I’ve acquired quite a few essentials to get me through this time as I’m a massive lover of cold weather. This blog post is basically about all the things I think you absolutely NEED.

1. Banana Milkshake

This might sound simple and random but honestly, this is the best thing ever. I use soya milk and Nesquik Banana Powder to create mine. It takes 5 seconds to do and tastes incredible. Throw some ice cubes in and you’re good to go! My favourite thing this summer!

2. Snickers Ice Cream

Oh. My. Gosh. I had forgotten how amazingly perfect Snickers Ice Cream is. I could eat about 10 of them per day (I try not to though haha). Also, for those who might be interested, the ice cream version of Snickers doesn’t contain egg. My boyfriend doesn’t eat egg products, so he for one is more than happy about this ice cream. The best snack for this summer hands down!

3. Dresses!

I’ve never been one to wear dresses but these hot days have completely converted me. My favourite ones are from New Look, so if you’re on the look out for a new summer dress then check it out. I pair mine with white Converse and it’s honestly the comfiest outfit ever!

4. Yellow Nail Polish

Yellow is my favourite colour, so of course it makes me happy to wear yellow nail polish. But honestly, what other colour represents summer better than yellow? I recently bought this nail polish by Barry M and it has quickly become my favourite. I can wear a dull coloured outfit with just this nail polish and it just brightens up the whole look!

Let me know what your summer essentials are – I’d love to discover some more staples!

Be kind, be humble.

Spring Denim OOTD ✌🏻

This week I didn’t really know what to blog about as I’ve just submitted my dissertation so I’ve been relaxing for a couple of days. However, today I’m actually going somewhere! Right now I’m on the train to Loughborough to see my boyfriend (long distance sucks). Lately I’ve seen so many bloggers do outfit posts I thought I’d do my own!

I’ve literally been living in this outfit lately. Years ago I bought this denim jacket from a thrift shop that I only wore a couple of times and forgot about it. I did some spring cleaning a few weeks ago and found it and fell in love with it again. The whole outfit focuses around the jacket as it’s kind of the main piece. That’s why I like wearing a black top and black jeans to go with it. The top I’m wearing is from H&M and although it was quite pricey I love the details on it! My favourite look ever lately. Pair it with a pair of Converse or Nikes or whatever you wish and you’re good to go!

Also, I never wear backpacks. Like ever. Again, this one I bought about a year ago and completely forgot about it. But now I love it. So much better than carrying a heavy handbag with you.

What’s your spring staple? Are you a denim or leather jacket lover? Or something completely different? Let me know by tweeting us at UCBloggers! Now enough of the talking, here are some pictures to show you the outfit!

I Won The #TheBloggersHub Giveaway!

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re doing super well! This week I wanted to tell you a little bit about blogging, giveaways and show you the giveaway prizes I won!

There are so many amazing blogging communities on Twitter, that support bloggers, connect them to brands as well as to other bloggers. It is a lovely help system for bloggers who are just starting out as getting noticed can be very hard in this huge expanding world of blogging. My favourites are: The Bloggers Hub, Bloggers Who Brunch and Blogging Gals. I mainly use the support system of #TheBloggersHub. I recently hosted a Twitter Chat on their page where I talked to lots and lots of amazing bloggers around the world and it was truly an amazing experience. Twitter chats usually happen a few days a week for one hour so make sure you get involved if you’re a beginner blogger as it really helps!

So now that you know a little bit more about the help system of new bloggers, I’d also like to talk about GIVEAWAYS! These accounts often collaborate with brands to get them out to bloggers. I recently won a giveaway hosted by The Bloggers Hub who collaborated with Leighton Denny Nails. I was given so many amazing nail polishes and other products and I think this is a great way to find out about new products as well as get some freebies! As a student, who doesn’t love free stuff, right? So let me tell you a little bit about what I got.

Skincare / Hair care:

1. Josh Wood Radiant Shine Hair Treatment Oil

The most fancy hair product I’ve ever owned. I mean it comes with a pipette! I’ve used this a couple of times after washing my hair and it makes it super silky and smooth. So far so good! Not entirely sure if it is worth the price as the Garnier Ultimate Blends does the same job for me with much less money.

2. Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Balm

This is a weird one for me as I haven’t used any product like this before. I tested it on dry hair and it did make the ends of my hair less frizzy, which is pretty cool! Still need to try this one out a bit more though to see if it is worth the price.

3. Neal’s Yard Bee Lovely Hand Cream

Now this one is definitely worth the price. The best hand cream I have ever used and I will continue to use this forever haha! The scent is SO amazing, it smells so luxurious and I just do not have the words to explain it. The reason why I like it so much is that it absorbs into my skin SO fast so it doesn’t leave me with sticky hands after using it. The best part is that it completely fixed my skin where I had burnt myself with a straightener! It is so good!

4. REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream

I use this every day now before applying my make-up and so far it’s very lovely! Doesn’t leave my skin greasy and it hasn’t broken me out! So far I’m loving it!

5. Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm

I had never used a cleansing balm before so this is kind of a strange concept for me. I’ve tried it out a couple of times now and it’s really lovely. Definitely leaves my skin fresh and clean and it’s super easy to use as well. I probably wouldn’t replace it with my Simple skincare products as they are much cheaper but it is very nice to try it out! If you’re more of a designer brand kinda person, this might be the one for you!

6. Skyn Icelandic Relief Eye Cream

I’ve used this every day since I got it and I love it! I use this before going to bed and it absorbs to my skin instantly. It kind of feels like applying water on my skin as it’s not your usual eye cream. I always wake up refreshed and without those horrible bags under the eyes haha!

Nails by Leighton Denny:

  1. Red: Viva La Diva
  2. Orange Metallic: Let Your Hair Down
  3. Dark Purple: Raspberry Affair
  4. Pink: Peach Lemonade
  5. Clear: Crystal Finish

Beauty On A Budget

Hello, everyone! I hope you are well. This week I thought I’d do something a little bit different to my usual blog posts and talk about beauty. I’m not really a beauty blogger but I love make-up so much so I thought I’d give this a go.

As a student, it is very difficult to spend £30 on a Mac foundation as that’s pretty much a weekly budget for food. Therefore, all the products I use are from standard high street stores such as Superdrug, Boots, and even Tesco. I’ve divided it into three categories: eyes, lips and face.

I don’t know about you guys but eyes are my favourite feature about any person. That also means I like to make them stand out and these are my favourite products to do so.

  • Waterline: BeYu Soft Liner in ‘516’
Perfect subtle liner for your waterline to brighten up your eyes if you haven’t gotten much sleep.
  • Eyeliner: L’oreal Super Liner in ‘Intense Black’
This is pretty much my favourite eyeliner. It helps you create the perfect winged eyeliner or just a subtle line across the lashes. Pretty much suitable for anything! And the colour pay off is amazing as well, definitely worth checking out.
  • Mascara: Maybelline Lash Sensational in ‘Black’
This is the best mascara I have ever used. Don’t get anything else, trust me. It makes your lashes thick and super long looking. I’m never using any other mascara.
  • Eyebrows: NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in ‘Black’
Perfect for sorting out your brows and if you’re not too fussy about filling them in perfectly, a quick stroke over the brows with this and you’re good to go for the day.
  • Eyeshadow: H&M Eye & Brow Shadows in ‘Dark Neutrals’
Perfect eyeshadow and brow combo. I mix the dark brown and black together for the brows and use the glittery shadows for my eyes. I love this so much!
  • Eyeshadow: NYX Single Eyeshadow in ‘Sin’
I use this every day as an inner corner highlight. As you can probably tell, I’m nearly running out, which shows how much I love it.

2. LIPS (from the left)

  • Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in ’38’
This is your perfect natural baby pink shade.
  • New Look Matte lipstick in ‘Latte’
I love this lipstick as it is one of the few matte shades I have. It’s a perfect nude lip for every day use.
  • New Look Pure Colour lipstick in ’23 Mink’
This is another nude, very similar to the matte one but this one has a much more creamier finish. One of my favourite lipsticks of all time.
  • Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in ’08’
This is the darkest one of them all, very similar to the Kylie Jenner liquid lipstick Candy K.
  • NYX Liquid Suede in ‘Soft Spoken’
My only liquid lipstick that I tend to use on nights out as it is quite dark but super long lasting. Definitely recommend checking them out if you’re into Kylie Jenner lip kits as they’re very similar.

  • Collection Primed & Ready Mattifying Pore Minimiser
I love putting this on before my foundation. Protects my skin from blemishes and makes the rest of the make-up glide on.
  • Maybelline Dream Pure BB-cream in ‘Light’ with Salicylic Acid
I haven’t used proper foundations for years as BB-cream are proven to be so much better for your skin. This doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily and the coverage is medium but buildable. Definitely a staple in my make-up bag.
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in ‘003 Peach Glow’
I never ever use any other powder because this one is perfect. Provides some extra coverage and keeps your face matte all day long. There’s not much more to ask for.
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in ‘1 Fair’
The most perfect drugstore concealer. Super high coverage and very long lasting. You definitely need one if you don’t have it already!
  • Essence Matt Touch Blush in ’20 Berry Me Up’
The most perfect colour for a natural blushed look. Great colour pay off and blends easily. The best part though – it only costs a pound in Wilko! Bargain.
  • Collection Highlight & Sculpt Contour Kit
The perfect kit to get a natural bronzed and contoured look as well as the most beautiful highlight on your cheekbones. Very affordable but high quality. This is my second one because it’s simply amazing.

I hope this helped some make-up lovers like me find some cheap beauty products that are actually worth so much more. Have an amazing weekend!

Christmas Gift Guide: Under £15!

Hello, everyone! Welcome to another blog post! I hope you’re all well and super excited for Christmas now that it’s finally December! Since now is the time people start thinking about Christmas presents, I thought it would be perfect to give you a few ideas for affordable presents, if you’re a student like myself! Here are my favourite ideas for some adorable gifts…

1. Jewellery

Who doesn’t like jewellery, am I right? You could get some statement pieces or some lovely delicate necklaces, all depending on what the person likes! Jewellery Box UK kindly sent me the most lovely Christmas gift, containing three items – a necklace pendant, a bracelet and some earrings – all in the theme of a star. The items on their site are very affordable but the quality is amazing! They come in a little box and you can even choose to get it wrapped if you’re feeling lazy. Definitely something worth checking out for good quality, beautiful and affordable jewellery! There’s something for everyone.

2. Adult Colouring Books

If the person you’re looking for a present is creative, this is definitely something worth considering. These books are much more difficult than your usual colouring books, they need serious precision skills haha. The one I have bought is Harry Potter themed because my friend loves it. This is such a good present idea as you can adjust it to their liking and get it themed. However, if you do not know a specific theme you’d like to go for, there are amazing colouring books like ‘Lost Ocean’ and ‘Secret Garden’ so have a look at those!

3. Books

Books are always a good idea and there is definitely something out there for everyone! I have chosen Girl Online Going Solo by Zoe Sugg as an example but there are so many amazing books out there! If you’d rather get a more interactive book, I’d suggest ‘Calm’ for someone who’s stressed or Wreck This Journal if they want to bring out their creative side! Always add a pair of cosy socks with a book because they’re the comfiest things on earth.

4. Make-Up/Beauty Sets

If you know someone who loves make-up, get them a Christmassy make-up palette! I have the Tanya Burr ‘Beautifully Defined’ palette and I think it’s amazing to give to someone as a present. There are a lot of Christmassy beauty/skincare sets in Superdrug (such as Zoella and Tanya Burr) so go have a look – there should be something for everyone.

5. Cup / Mug and Goodies!

You can never go wrong with a cute cup or a mug that’s filled with candy and chocolate! So get a mug or cup of your choice (there’s loads of affordable ones in Primark), fill it with their favourite sweets (or cosy socks) and you’re good to go! Simple but so lovely!

I hope this gave you some inspiration for Christmas presents! Have a lovely weekend!
